PJ Library…Did you Know?
• PJ Library is a Jewish family engagement program implemented on a local level throughout North America.
• PJ came to Metropolitan Detroit in 2006.
• 1,800 children are currently receiving PJ Library books in Metro Detroit.
• PJ has delivered over 5 million books to 200+ communities in the USA!
• Families love the books, but they not only get a great Jewish library, 283 of book titles have been selected to pass down to the next generation – so save your books!
• Through PJ Library, families get connected to our Jewish agencies, our congregations, the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit and the entire Jewish community!
• Got kids? Friends? Relatives that should be getting PJ? Sign them up at www.pjlibrary.org
The cost is FREE!
PJ Our Way is the newest of PJ programs that will just launched in September, 2014 as a pilot.
• Since Detroit is so awesome, we are one of only 11 pilot sites in the USA!
• Since PJ Library only goes up to the age of 9, PJ Our way extends the PJ experience through age 11.
• Kids get to choose their own books online, write reviews, upload their own video trailers and share their ideas online with peers.
• A special book club will be starting at Adat Shalom Synagogue in January, 2015!
• …and just like PJ Library… it’s free!

• Sifriyat Pijama (literally PJ Library in Hebrew!) is the Hebrew version of PJ Library that aims to instill a life-long love of reading in young Israelis in Israel.
• Sifriyat Pijama works in partnership the Ministry of Education, with Israeli municipalities, local councils, community centers and other organizations.
• More than 200,000 children, aged 2-8 years of age and their families participate in this program in Israel.
• … and now the books are available HERE!
• Ariella Lis Raviv wanted to get other Hebrew Speaking parents and their children together to read Sifriat Pijama books in Hebrew and to kibbitz (talk).
• Currently, there are 40 families that receive Sifriat Pijama in Metro Detroit. A small havurah (small group) has already met 3x’s.
• You can sign up at www.sp-ba.org
These programs and many, more are brought to you by Federation and J Family, creating Jewish experiences for families.
